Carrie Kusserow Joins Strategic Management as Senior Vice President

Strategic Management is pleased to announce that Carrie Kusserow has joined the firm as Senior Vice President. She is a Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP), Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) and Certified in Healthcare Privacy Compliance (CHPC). She brings extensive experience in health care compliance, with expertise in Fraud, Waste and Abuse, False Claims, Anti-Kickback regulations, Stark Laws, HIPAA Privacy and Security, and Medicare Marketing regulations. She specializes in compliance advisory services with corporate compliance program development and implementation, evaluation of compliance program effectiveness, compliance risk assessments, policy and procedure development, investigations, and hotline operations and issue management. She is also highly experienced in developing and implementing processes for management of RAC and other audit contractor claims, including policies and procedures, process flows, tracking system and establishment of an oversight committee; and designing and implementing a system for a large managed care organization to simplify the Medicare Advantage annual mandated member materials creation and review process to ensure compliance with the CMS Medicare Marketing Guidelines.

Prior to joining Strategic Management, Ms. Kusserow was a consultant with a “Big Four” public accounting firm, where she focused on providing compliance-related consulting services to healthcare providers and managed care organizations. She also has experience as a Chief Compliance Officer for a health system, where she was recognized for significantly increasing senior-leadership support and engagement in the compliance program. She began her career as a partner in a hotline services company that provided compliance hotline services to over a thousand organizations, as well as for several of the federal government agencies.
