Professional Experience

Faye Griffin is Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC), Certified in Healthcare Privacy Compliance (CHPC) and is a Registered Health Information Management Administrator (RHIA) with over 25 years of experience in healthcare compliance in a variety of compliance related capacities. Ms. Griffin is frequently engaged by health systems, hospitals and revenue cycle management providers to serve as an interim or designated Compliance Officer and Privacy Officer. Ms. Griffin is highly experienced in performing risk assessments, leading compliance investigations, creating action plans, developing policies, education and training, and providing responses relating to Corporate Integrity Agreements and DOJ settlements. Due to her decades of experience, clients often engage Ms. Griffin to analyze their compliance and privacy policies and processes with the objective to advise on and facilitate improvements in their existing Compliance and Privacy Programs.

Previous Work Experience

For a decade, Ms. Griffin served as the Regional Corporate Compliance Officer for a large healthcare system comprised of 18 hospitals, 4 post-acute care facilities and more than 1,000 clinic physicians. As the Regional Corporate Compliance Officer, Ms. Griffin’s compliance responsibilities focused on the development and management of the Compliance and Privacy Programs for acute care, clinics, laboratory, home care, hospice, and DME. Seperately, while serviing in the role as a Compliance Officer, Ms. Griffin’s responsibilities included HIPAA Privacy where she developed and approved policies, training and education; she conducted breach investigations and reported breaches to the Office for Civil Rights; she worked closely with th IT Department to assess HIPAA security compliance.

Ms. Griffin has also served as the Health Information Management (HIM) Department Director; where she was responsible for 6 managers and 95 employees and charged with acquiring, analyzing, and protecting digital, electronic, and traditional medical information vital to providing quality patient care. Duties included implementation of a compliant clinical documentation improvement department/program. She maintained a successful HIPAA/Privacy release of patient information function with no major breaches, as well as a process for auditing and monitoring of coding to support compliant billing.Â
