Medicare Raises Standards for Contractor Claim Reviews

In response to recommendations by the Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General (OIG), the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) issued new instructions for Medicare contractors in the Medicare Program Integrity Manual (PIM).  Providers and Suppliers should become familiar with and develop strategies for complying with these medical review standards.
