Welcome to the Corporate Governance And Compliance Module
The Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General outlined seven elements of an effective compliance program. The intention of the OIG is to provide clear guidance to hospitals, as well as other providers of health care services, in order to reduce fraud, waste and abuse within their organizations. The seven elements are a guide to compliance officers on how to structure and maintain an effective compliance program. Although adoption of a compliance program is voluntary, entities are highly recommended to implement such a program to protect their organization and mitigate risks.

The Corporate Governance and Compliance Module follows the seven elements of an effective compliance program, as outlined by the OIG. The Module includes extensive policies and procedures, training, and guidance based on applicable regulations, statutes, and Federal health care program requirements. The material in the Corporate Governance and Compliance Module can be use to supplement your existing compliance program or as a foundation to implement such a program within your organization.
